# Ping a heartbeat monitor

`GET https://evohub.io/ping/{token}`

Part of the [Uptime API](https://docs-dev.evohub.io/uptime.md) reference · operationId `pingHeartbeat`.

Records a ping for the heartbeat monitor with this token. The monitor
goes down when no ping arrives within its `interval_seconds` plus
`grace_seconds`, and comes back up on the next ping.

No API key: the token is the only credential, so keep the URL out of
public repositories and logs. GET, POST and HEAD all work, and a POST
body is ignored. Pings are not counted against the API rate limit.

## Path parameters

- `token` (string, required, example `hb_9e1f3a5c-7b2d-4c6e-8f0a-1b3d5e7f9a2c`): The heartbeat monitor's `ping_token`.

### 200 — The ping was recorded.
